Safeguarding Plus requires a confidential checking procedure with the police in accordance with home office guidelines. If you have been convicted of a criminal offence please give full details on a separate piece of paper and attach to the application form. Safeguarding Plus checks all applicants against Barred List and with the Disclosure Barring Service. Safeguarding Plus uses the new checking and vetting procedures 2010.
Because of the nature of the work which you are applying, this post is exempt from the provisions of section 4 (2) of the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974 (exceptions) order 1975. You are therefore required to give information about convictions which, for other purposes are described as spent under the provisions of the act.
